Creating a Coaching Culture

We are consistently hearing from our clients, our participants and from the industry, the requirement for coaching. However, this is not the need for executive coaching, or to be coached themselves but a burning desire to build a coaching culture within their organisations.

IDG have designed and are delivering a management development programme that seeks to build a deeper understanding of coaching as a management style. By using the GROW (or TGROW) model, we have encouraged participants over a four module programme to use open questions with their teams rather than simply providing the solution.

By encouraging the use of open questions, we aim to dispel the traditional assumption that coaching has to be delivered in a formal and structured manner. Coaching skills and support should be able to be delivered by an individual, to their coachee in on the go: in the lift; by the water cooler, etc. Ultimately, by providing effective coaching skills, a coach will be able to aid their coachee to arrive at a solution for themselves which will lead to greater buy-in from the coachee.

For more information, please see our case study on the programme.
