IDG and HSBC Win Prestigious Award at Global HR Award Ceremony

IDG was delighted and honoured when our ‘Activate’ programme, developed for and in collaboration with HSBC, was awarded the “Best Leadership Development Award for Middle Management” at the 2017 Global HR Excellence Awards in Mumbai.

The prestigious awards are part of the World HRD Congress, now in its 25th year, and aim to “recognise the best of the best”. IDG’s ‘Activate’ programme was honoured alongside other winners including Infosys, Emirates, Mahindra, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, EY, and Marks & Spencer.

Activate is a bespoke leadership development programme designed for HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets Technology division, focusing on its technology centres in India and China. Activate will help drive business performance by developing individual leaders, whilst encouraging a consistent collective approach to leading. The programme draws on a range of insights and approaches to aid delegates’ understanding of the psychology of leadership and to inspire a shared vision that sets a clear direction for the future.

Craig Preston, IDG’s Managing Director, said: “The success of the Activate programme is due to a number of factors. Firstly the close relationship between IDG and HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets Technology division. They know us well and we know them. Secondly, the level of direct involvement and sponsorship from the client’s senior leadership. With senior leaders actively communicating the programme’s importance, delegates really buy into the benefits to their own careers of changing their behaviour.

“Thirdly the quality of the design, pulled together with considerable input from the client. And, finally, the outstanding facilitation from IDG consultants comprised of a deliberate mix of UK and local professionals, allowing the content to be perfectly adjusted to take into account cultural and language differences in China and India.”

Activate is the ninth IDG programme to win an award. Other recent awards include ‘Training Initiative of the Year’ at the Construction News Awards, ‘The Most Effective Cultural Transformation Initiative’ at Financial World’s Innovation Awards, ‘Judge’s Star Performer’ at the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards, and ‘Best Leadership Development programme’ at the European Leadership Awards.
