The Commandant's Parade - 11th August 2010
IDG hosted a number of clients at the parade in August, which took place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.  The Commandant’s Parade is a prestigious event in the Sandhurst calendar as it is the final rehearsal for the cadets before the Sovereign’s Parade, from which they are commissioned.

IDG are privileged  to be in a position to host clients at this memorable event and we feel it was particularly apt to witness the ceremony that marks the transition from trainee cadet into the new young leaders of the Army. They will go on to face the same challenges as any newly promoted leaders regardless of organisation. The key message they will take away is summed up in the Sandhurst logo “Serve to Lead”.

"IDG and the Sandhurst Military experience, once again delivered a truly inspirational day. It was impossible not to draw comparisons, with the officers preparations and many rehearsals for this parade with the ongoing challenges at work and our constant focus on excellence” An IDG guest

Sandhurst Business Challenge

On the 19th and 20th of August, Inspirational Development Group (IDG) held their inaugural Sandhurst Business Challenge at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.  The event saw 11 five man teams compete against each other in a variety of team building tasks whilst also helping to raise money for Help For Heroes.

As part of the challenge, each team was asked to come up with some innovative yet practical ides in order to raise £2,500 for the Charity.  Monies raised total over £30,000, a great achievement in such a short time!

The competition took place over two days and challenged the teams to develop their leadership, followership and team working skills. The teams were pushed outside their comfort zones which thus forced them to raise their performance bar – leading them to achieve above their own expectations.

The competitors came from organisations in both the public and private sectors.  They took part in various challenges which included orienteering, command tasks, team building exercises and mental agility tasks.  The challenge culminated with rafting across the stunning Sandhurst lake and a short sprint to the finishing line at the front of Old College.  The Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group were joint winners, with another competing Royal Bank of Scotland team coming in third.

“The two days were excellent, very well planned and the admin was first class! IDG certainly hit it at the right level.... something I think we will always remember” Participant.
