July 2011Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and IDG Partnering AgreementIDG has been in the privileged position of working in partnership with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst since 2001. We recently retendered and were re-awarded the contract, and on 27th July 2011 the Charter of Agreement between RMAS and IDG was signed by Major General Patrick Marriott CBE, Commandant RMAS, and Stephen Bennett, CEO of IDG. For more information, please read the Press Release. Breakfast BriefingOur second Breakfast Briefing of 2011 was once again held at The Ivy Restaurant on the 6th July. The title was: Managing Dispersed Teams - Business without Borders. We were delighted to have Paul Heugh, VP of Global Strategic Projects from GlaxoSmithKline speaking to us on his experiences of dealing with dispersed teams all around the world, and Stephen Bennett, CEO of IDG, who gave an introduction on this subject and some preliminary thoughts. This subject is clearly a burning platform for many UK and global businesses with teams working across the country, Europe and the World. We are coming across many examples and stories from participants on our programmes that indicate that this is an issue for them and their teams, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to raise the topic in this Breakfast Briefing. We were pleased to welcome 24 guests from a diverse range of UK and worldwide organisations. There was an opportunity for tables to discuss the topic in detail and individual's own experiences of the challenges of recruiting for, and managing dispersed teams. As ever, The Ivy provided a delicious breakfast and we look forward to returning there for our final Breakfast Briefing of the year on the 11th October when the topic will be 'Diversity pays Dividends'.
