What is involved?

The programme is delivered using a multi-media approach that incorporates video, audio, scenario-based activity, mentor conversations, reading, watching and reflecting.

The content is based on ‘stretch & challenge’ – with the intent to push leaders to think differently – and to get people away from the screen and doing something as quickly as possible – observing colleagues, testing a new approach, sharing new thinking and reflecting on impact

You will be assigned an experienced leader-mentor whose job it will be to guide you and ‘stretch and challenge’ you. Most other centres can’t do this, as they use tutors and people with minimal leadership experience who aren’t able to advise or stretch other leaders

Our programmes are contemporary and based on new and current thinking about topical and post-pandemic challenges for leaders. Some of the dilemmas we will be tackling include:

Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The subject of Inclusion has been fundamental for decades, but has now become a very ‘hot topic’ – especially in the last couple of years. A global pandemic has further sharpened the awareness of many leaders, organisations and thinkers about our pressing need to build a more inclusive and equitable world – not only in gender and race, but also social background, sexual identity, geography, age, neurodiversity, disability and all other aspects.
In this qualification programme, leaders will explore the many challenges we face as a society, as organisations and as individual leaders – as we seek to re-shape the world around us to embed fairness, equity and access to opportunity for all.

Key Issues Raised In The Programme:

  • The root-causes of structural inequality in society and at work
  • Unspoken assumptions that need to be challenged
  • The need for diverse perspectives for innovation & problem-solving
  • The business case for inclusion
  • Moving the dial through allyship and positive action
  • Inclusion, strategy and insightful measures of progress
  • Influencing leader mindset at all levels
Strategic Approaches to Mental Health & Wellbeing

Strategic Approaches to Mental Health & Wellbeing

The subject of Wellbeing has been discussed across organisations for many years but has now often been extended to include the wider issues of Mental Health. A global pandemic has sharpened our awareness of the need for leaders to create positive cultural conditions and a supportive, empathetic approach to enable our people to develop resilience and positive mental health.
In this qualification programme, leaders will explore the many challenges we face as a society, as organisations and as individual leaders – as we seek to protect and support the mental health and wellbeing of our colleagues – and ourselves – at all levels.

Key Issues Raised In The Programme:

  • The impacts of poor Mental Health & Wellbeing (MH & WB) on society and work
  • The challenges of developing and implementing an effective approach
  • Building our own resilience
  • Healthy work systems and how we can use this thinking to move forwards
  • The business case for improving MH & WB in your organisation
  • Creating the right cultural conditions for positive MH & WB
  • Influencing leader attitudes to MH & WB at all levels

You are a senior leader, organisational manager, director, member of the C-suite, or you aspire to be one. You may have responsibility for these issues in your organisation.

How does it work?

How does it work?

You sign up, and choose a unit from our range of subject areas. You will receive access to IDG Online’s virtual learning resources, be assigned a mentor, and then set a series of ‘challenges’. You will need to consider key issues in the subject area you have chosen, both in principle and your own organisational context. The resources, and your mentor, will help you to reflect, draw conclusions, and generate real-life evidence of your thinking and approach in action.

Is there an exam?

Is there an exam?

There is no exam or dissertation required: you just have to display the abilities required for a senior leader by rising to the challenges we set. On successful completion of all the challenges and tasks, you will be formally assessed and put forward to the CMI for the award in the subject area you chose.

Why choose IDG?

Why choose IDG?

The programmes we create are not designed simply to enable you to achieve the qualification. They are leadership development programmes, designed to enhance, sharpen and even transform your capabilities and impact. The programmes are shaped to your own professional circumstances, making the learning practical and immediately applicable to your daily practice. While there is some underpinning knowledge contained in every unit, we focus the outcomes primarily on you and your workplace which means you – and your organisation – see the benefits immediately.

How long does it take?
