IDG and King Abdullah II Fund for Development awarded silver medal at Training Journal Award Ceremony

A Unique Collaboration between Jordan’s King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) and Global Leadership Company IDG has won a leading award for delivering excellence in public sector services at the annual TJ Awards.

Since 2010, over 200 participants from the Jordan Civil Service, Royal Courts, Government entities and NGOs have enhanced their leadership, management, team building and policy making capabilities through attending the Civil Service Development Programme (CSDP).

His Excellency Imad Fakhoury, Minister of Planning & International Cooperation, said of the CSDP: “I am proud of, and I know His Majesty the King is also proud of, what you have achieved on this very competitive programme”. It has been recognised in the Jordanian national media through ambassadorial support and ministerial praise for “helping create better government delivering better services”.

The programme, which consists of two sessions in Amman and one week at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where IDG are the civilian partners has been described by participants as “beyond my expectations”. They also said it “enabled me to create a vision and help my team achieve their goals” and helped them “learn how to get the best out of myself and my people”.

CSDP won the Silver award in the Best Public-Sector Programme category at a ceremony in London on 5th December. Its reach and impact go beyond the subsequent promotions and career development of the alumni – 40% of whom are female. Participants work in small teams during and beyond the programme on projects which provide real, tangible benefit to the Kingdom. These have included enhancing youth employment opportunities; education for young cancer patients in hospitals and marketing products produced by local women in rural communities.

Jimmy Gordon, IDG Middle East Chairman said: “Jordan is a beacon of sanity and stability in a troubled region. We are privileged to work with KAFD whose aim is to promote sustainable progress and enhance the prosperity of the Kingdom. We are proud that the drive and dedication of our diverse group of participants has been recognised with such an important award.”

The TJ Awards are one of the leading accolades in the training and development sector, and reward excellence, innovation and best practice across the industry.
