Management Fundamentals Programme for a Sugar Manufacturing Organisation
The strategic focus of sugar manufacturing is about to change significantly. The target organisation has had to radically re-think its strategy to become a more cost-focused manufacturer to ensure their competitiveness in the future environment. To deliver this change, they invested in their people, who needed to feel more empowered, engaged and confident to enable their direct reports to help deliver cost savings and efficiencies on the front line.
Design and deliver a 3 module Management Fundamentals Programme. The programme ran over 5 months as it was designed to give delegates a grounding in the fundamentals of managing and leading people for the first time.
IDG delivered a 3 module programme over the course of 5 months to fit in with the organisational operations cycle. Module 1 was a 3 Day residential programme focusing on personal effectiveness. Strengths Deployment Inventory was used to develop self-awareness along with a 360° feedback questionnaire. The second, a 2 day module, focuses on developing high performance in others – including an understanding of how to develop high performing teams, empower others through coaching and deal with difficult performance management issues. The programme was brought to life through the use of actors to role play these difficult, real-life scenarios. The third, one day residential module, looks at raising the personal performance bar and returning the investment made in them – here delegates receive their second 360° feedback questionnaire and can mark their progress so far.
